From April to August hens lay 5-20 green or brown-olive eggs. Several hens may lay their eggs into one nest or even use the nests of other species. Incubation lasts 23-25 days. The young can move on their own within a few days after hatching.

There are actually 16 genera of these birds; thus there are Blood type birds, Tragopants, Koklass, Monals, Junglefowl, Eared type, Gallopheasants, Long-tailed and many others.
